On June 28, 2014, Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 88 visited the Vulcan Materials quarry in Hanover, Pennsylvania.  The Scouts visited the quarry to learning more about rock formations that are local to our area while working on their Geology merit badge.  This was a great opportunity to experienced what is like to be at the bottom of a 300 foot deep open mine and to see first hand how huge all the equipment used to mine the materials and the processes the rock undergoes to become an finished product.  The one thing that we all learned is nothing is small in the mine.
